If it's Linux with libc 6 (glibc 2), for example, Red Hat 5.0 distribution, it's a known problem -- I have just finished testing fix for it, and will release it this weekend. What slackware version was used, what exact libc version is installed and where include files are taken from (slackware package? libc source distribution?) ? I believe, the change in cmsghdr structure definitions (similar to *BSD) first appeared in libc 6, and libc 6 requires some other changes, however just that particular definition should work if -DCMSG_DATA_IS_A_MACRO is added to COPTS definition (one for Linux in your case), so whatever system you have, it may be enough to compile fhttpd. I never seen libc 5 and *BSD-like cmsghdr definition combination in Linux, however it's possible that change was made in some late libc 5 version as well as in libc 6 / glibc 2. -- Alex - fhttpd information: http://phobos.illtel.denver.co.us/pub/fhttpd/ list archive: http://phobos.illtel.denver.co.us/ml/fhttpd/ From owner-fhttpd@phobos.illtel.denver.co.us Thu Feb 5 18:47:15 1998 Received: (from majordomo@localhost) by phobos.illtel.denver.co.us (8.8.8/8.6.9) id SAA10458 for fhttpd-outgoing; Thu, 5 Feb 1998 18:47:15 -0800 From: Russell Reply-To: rkn@ipa.net To: Alex Belits Subject: Re: [fhttpd] fhttpd-0.3.2 Date: Thu, 5 Feb 1998 20:17:32 -0600 X-Mailer: KMail [version 0.5.5] Cc: fhttpd@phobos.illtel.denver.co.us MIME-Version: 1.0 Message-Id: <98020520275700.03090@oscar> Sender: owner-fhttpd@phobos.illtel.denver.co.us Precedence: bulk On Thu, 05 Feb 1998, you wrote: Includes the 5.4.33 Linux C libraries, libcurses 1.0.0, GNU libgdbm 1.7.3, libtermcap 2.0.8, and BSD db 1.85.4. /lib/libc.so.5.4.33 /usr/include/ Slackware version HD-3.4.0 I think this is waht your asking for Russell >On Thu, 5 Feb 1998 rkn@ipa.net wrote: > >> >> On Thu, 05 Feb 1998, you wrote: >> >> I have libc.so.5 on a slackware system if that helps and I am running a pentium >> 166 with 32mags of ram, I also have pgcc install that I have used to compile the >> kernel with, I hope that helps. > > What slackware version was used, what exact libc version is installed >and where include files are taken from (slackware package? libc source >distribution?) ? > > I believe, the change in cmsghdr structure definitions (similar to *BSD) >first appeared in libc 6, and libc 6 requires some other changes, however >just that particular definition should work if -DCMSG_DATA_IS_A_MACRO is >added to COPTS definition (one for Linux in your case), so whatever system >you have, it may be enough to compile fhttpd.
